Privacy Policy

The Age of Wisdom ("the app," "we") is an iOS application in which a council of AI-generated characters deliberates on questions you ask and delivers perspectives and a verdict. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we receive your email address and basic sign-in identifiers (via email, Google, or Apple sign-in). Authentication and data storage are provided by Supabase.
- Your questions and sessions. The questions you ask, the council's responses, verdicts, and related session content are stored with your account so you can revisit them, and are processed as described below to generate the app's responses.
- Progress and preferences. Things like which chronicles you've unlocked, advisor affinity, saved sessions, journal entries you create, and app settings.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple sends us transaction information (such as an anonymized transaction identifier, the product purchased, and expiry date) so we can unlock your features. We never see or store your payment card or banking details — purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
- Diagnostics. We collect crash and error reports (via Sentry) and basic service logs to keep the app working. These are technical in nature.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
How your questions are processed (AI providers)
The heart of the app is sending your question to large language models that generate the council's deliberation. To do this, your question and necessary session context are transmitted to third-party AI model providers (routed through OpenRouter and Google), which may include providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Alibaba, Moonshot AI, Amazon, Mistral, and Microsoft, depending on the council you assemble. Spoken audio for characters is generated by Google's text-to-speech models.
These providers process your content to generate a response. We send only what the feature needs; we do not send your name or email alongside your questions. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms; we use API access, which major providers treat with stricter data-handling commitments than their consumer products.
Practical advice: please don't include sensitive personal details (full names, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, health record details) in your questions — the council doesn't need them to give you a good answer.
Voice input
If you use the microphone to speak a question, speech-to-text is performed by your device's built-in dictation. We receive the resulting text, not your audio.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use your questions to train our own AI models.
How long we keep information
Your account data and session history are kept while your account is active so the app can function. Diagnostic logs are retained on short rolling windows. If you delete your account, we delete the personal information associated with it within a reasonable period, except where a legal obligation requires brief retention.
Your choices and rights
- Access & deletion. You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and its data at any time from within the app's settings or by contacting us at the address below.
- Subscriptions. Manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California), you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will honor applicable rights.
Children
The Age of Wisdom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with reputable hosted providers (Supabase, Vercel). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data we handle.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date, and note significant changes in the app.
